Volleyball Recap: Rochester Falls to Plymouth in First Game of Season

Rochester unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

While Rochester had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Amara Wierings and Aubrey Wilson, who picked up four kills apiece. The pair just refused to take it easy: they also led the team is assists, picking up seven each. Avarie Montel and Madeline Bailon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Rochester will face off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plymouth, they will square off against La Porte at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
