Rochester unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

While Rochester had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Amara Wieringa and Aubrey Wilson, who picked up four kills apiece. The pair just refused to take it easy: they also led the team is assists, picking up seven each. Avarie Montel and Madeline Bailon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Plymouth can attribute much of their success to Emaline Vanduyne, who had 16 digs and two assists.

Rochester wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Pioneer on the 19th. As for Plymouth, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against La Porte on the 19th.
