Baseball Game Preview: James River Midlothian Rapids vs. Huguenot Falcons

James River Midlothian has gone a perfect 6-0 against Huguenot recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rapids will host the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Huguenot is facing James River Midlothian at the wrong time: James River Midlothian suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 3-2. The match marked the Rapids' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Grant has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jake Schumacher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Huguenot's offense. They came up short against Manchester on Tuesday, falling 25-0. The Falcons have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

James River Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Huguenot, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. James River Midlothian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Huguenot struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
