Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Whitnall

Whitnall extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-1. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Kenosha Tremper Trojans. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 4-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Whitnall let Samantha Davis and Sienna Malone run wild. Davis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, while Malone went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Malone is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Aleena Koser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Kenosha Tremper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

On Kenosha Tremper's side, Ava DeBartolo and Gianna Ricchio did some serious damage despite the final result: DeBartolo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Ricchio got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Whitnall will take on Indian Trail at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kenosha Tremper, they will welcome Racine Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
