Baseball Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Bellevue East Chieftains

Benson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 34th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to the Bellevue East Chieftains. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 two weeks ago.

Benson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amrion Pouncil, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double. That double marked the first that Pouncil hit this season.

Benson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bellevue East, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benson will head out to challenge Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bellevue East, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bellevue West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Chieftains surely won't give up without a fight.
