Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Golden Warriors vs. Galesburg Silver Streaks

Sterling is 1-9 against Galesburg since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sterling Golden Warriors will host the Galesburg Silver Streaks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Galesburg is hoping to do what East Moline United couldn't on Monday: put an end to Sterling's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Sterling blew past East Moline United, posting a 72-26 win. That looming 72-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Warriors yet this season.

Meanwhile, Galesburg was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past LaSalle-Peru 49-14. Given the Silver Streaks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sterling has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Galesburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
