Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Mitchell's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Mitchell had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls on Thursday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Brianna Coure was a one-woman wrecking crew for Mitchell as she went 7 for 14 to rack up 18 points and four steals. That's the most points Coure has posted since back in December of 2024. Raquel King also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Mitchell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Wiregrass Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marley Campbell, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tennae Cabral, who scored nine points and seven rebounds.

Mitchell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their record is now 13-10.

Mitchell has already played their next game, a 63-61 loss against Sunlake on the 8th. Wiregrass Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
