Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sam Lewis and Kenneth Charlie Lead Kongiganak to Victory

On SaturdayKwigillingok kept up with Kongiganak until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Everything went the Kongiganak Wolverines' way against the Kwigillingok Eagles as the Kongiganak Wolverines made off with a 93-72 win. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Kongiganak to victory were Kenneth Charlie and Sam Lewis. Charlie posted 23 points, while Lewis scored 16 points. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Otto, who put up ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Kwigillingok lost, don't look at Caiden Nichols. Despite the final result, he earned 30 points. With that strong performance, Nichols is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Christopher Lewis, who had 17 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Kongiganak and bumps their season record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-4 Kwigillingok and 0-5 Kwigillingok. As for Kwigillingok, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Kongiganak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-47 loss against Chief Paul Memorial on the 1st. Kwigillingok does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
