Basketball Recap: Abby Affholter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hillsdale Academy

Reading won the last time they faced Hillsdale Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Reading Rangers put the hurt on the Hillsdale Academy Colts with a sharp 43-21 victory. The 43-point effort marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Reading's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Affholter, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Ervans, who posted 11 points.

Reading now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hillsdale Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Reading and Jonesville will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Hillsdale Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Litchfield at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
