Basketball Game Preview: Fairdale Bulldogs vs. St. Bernard's Crusaders

The Fairdale Bulldogs and the St. Bernard's Crusaders will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-17, which was the final score in Fairdale's tilt against John Hardin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Fairdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while John Hardin is ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, after a string of 14 wins dating back to last season, St. Bernard's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 56-21 loss at the hands of Archer. The matchup marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Tally Williams and Laila Florvilus, who each put up four points. Samantha Sundberg held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Fairdale and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for St. Bernard's, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
