Baseball Recap: Minnechaug Regional Comes Up Short

If Minnechaug Regional was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Northampton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Central Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Minnechaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minnechaug Regional will take on Leominster at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central, they will challenge East Longmeadow at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
