Football Recap: Saguaro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Saguaro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The contest between the Sabercats and the Williams Field Black Hawks didn't end well, with the Sabercats falling 49-35.

When it comes to explaining why Saguaro lost, don't look at Marcel Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 195 yards and two TDs.

Courshawn Hill produced another solid effort rushing for 277 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries for Williams Field. With that strong performance, Hill is now averaging an impressive 117 rushing yards per game. Q Skillings was another key player, rushing for 89 yards and three scores on only eight carries.

Saguaro's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Williams Field, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Saguaro will face off against Brophy College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabercats will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.63 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Williams Field, they will challenge Higley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
