Softball Recap: Rich Hill Tigers vs. Midway Vikings
Rich Hill had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it 15. They fell just short of the Midway Vikings by a score of 12-11. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for Midway, the victory got them back to even at 10-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 29th.
For Midway's part, Laicey Anderson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Anderson has posted since April 1st. Michaela Brown was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rich Hill will take on Lockwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lockwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Rich Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Midway, they will square off against Kingsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
