Football Recap: Platt Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Platt played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the New Britain Golden Hurricanes and fell 49-14. The Panthers were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Although Platt took the loss, they still got scores from Lemarcus Bowman and Austen Standish.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Britain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Billy Seymour, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 83 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Seymour a new career-high. Jaden Benitez also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.

Platt has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for New Britain, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Coming up, Platt will be playing in front of their home fans against Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Standish and Tommy Hussey. As for New Britain, they will head out to face off against Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jayden Allen and Jeremiah Pinckney.
