Preview: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Nipomo Titans

Morro Bay and Nipomo are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Morro Bay Pirates will jump right back in to play the Nipomo Titans at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Nipomo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Morro Bay, who comes in off a win.

Morro Bay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past San Luis Obispo Classical Academy 85-39 on the road. That 85-39 margin sets a new team best for Morro Bay this season.

Justin Campbell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Mendoza, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Nipomo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 66-33 defeat at the hands of Taft.

Morro Bay is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Nipomo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Morro Bay, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-52 loss to Nipomo in their previous meeting back in February. Can Morro Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
