Baseball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short

Southeast extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-19. They lost 14-0 to the Guymon Tigers. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Guymon, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

For Guymon's part, Andres Ozaeta made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Ozaeta has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Sandoval, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyle Harmon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

While Southeast had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
