Pike County Central extends home winning streak to four

Recap: Pike County Central Hawks vs. Floyd Central Jaguars

The Pike County Central Hawks entered their tilt with the Floyd Central Jaguars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pike County Central walked away with an 86-77 victory over Floyd Central on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Floyd Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ronnie Samons, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Moore, who scored 14 points along with nine assists and five rebounds.

Pike County Central pushed their record up to 6-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Floyd Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Pike County Central will take on Paintsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Paintsville is ranked 89th, while Pike County Central is ranked 91st). As for Floyd Central, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Rowan County at 4:00 p.m.
