Basketball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short

Troy lost against Berkley back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Troy Colts fell 45-33 to the Berkley Bears. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Bears are ranked 146th).

Berkley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleigh Tracey, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Madi Bonsall was another key player, putting up nine points.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Berkley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Troy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berkley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-35 defeat against Royal Oak on the 7th.
