Football Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. North Lincoln Knights
The Lincolnton Wolves will head out to face off against the North Lincoln Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Lincolnton can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They lost 28-6 to South Point. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, North Lincoln took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against West Lincoln by a score of 27-14. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Rebels are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shannon Wingate had a dynamite game for North Lincoln, rushing for 223 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Wingate wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: North Lincoln was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 294 rushing yards.
