Volleyball Recap: Hesston Falls Despite Big Games from Callie Yoder and Addyson 'AJ' Reif

After a string of three wins, Hesston's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Hoisington Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Swathers of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Hesston's loss came despite strong showings from Addyson 'AJ' Reif and Callie Yoder. Reif had three digs and three aces, while Yoder had 13 digs. Reif has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Miya Nachtigal, who had 11 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last ten contests.

Hesston's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Hoisington, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-4.

Hoisington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Nickerson on the 7th. Hopefully Hesston paid attention to the Cardinals' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
