Basketball Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

New Castle lost against Delta back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The New Castle Trojans fell 58-46 to the Delta Eagles. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Delta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Bragg, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 20 points. What's more, Bragg also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Bronson Edwards was another key player, going 5-for-6 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Delta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Looking ahead, New Castle will square off against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delta, they will venture away from home to take on Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta is facing Rushville at the right time seeing as Rushville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
