Baseball Game Preview: Norwalk Lancers vs. Firebaugh Falcons

Norwalk has gone a perfect 10-0 against Firebaugh recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lancers will welcome the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Norwalk beat Santa Fe 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Daniel Albidrez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. Albidrez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Medina, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Marcus Castillo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Norwalk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Firebaugh). Everything went their way against Dominguez on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-9 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Norwalk's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Firebaugh, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Everything went Norwalk's way against Firebaugh when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Norwalk made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
