Soccer Game Preview: El Diamante vs. Golden West

The El Diamante Miners will venture away from home to face off against the Golden West Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

El Diamante is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Redwood just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Rangers.

Meanwhile, Golden West kept a clean sheet against Monache on Tuesday. They blew past the Marauders 7-0. Considering the Trailblazers have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Golden West is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those seven matches. As for El Diamante, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-6.

El Diamante came up short against Golden West when the teams last played back in January, falling 3-1. Can El Diamante avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
