It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Highland had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Perry Pumas. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Highland was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-105), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 15-25, 16-14.
Isabella Stojkovic paced Highland's offense, picking up 25 kills. Stojkovic got some help from Tatum McKnight and her 53 assists. Stojkovic was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Highland's victory bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Perry, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 25-18.
Highland has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Corona del Sol on the 10th. Perry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
