Baseball Recap: Aquinas Academy Takes a Loss

Aquinas Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Leechburg Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 last Monday.

Aquinas Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Burchill, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Aquinas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Leechburg, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Aquinas Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Union Area at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leechburg will face off against rival Winchester Thurston at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are on a five-game streak of home wins, Winchester Thurston a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
