Softball Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Smith Valley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 20-19. The Vandals' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row dating back to last season.

Charleigh Osmotherly (Schmid) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Holly Sullivan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs.

Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

While they had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
