Jasper is 8-2 against Hardin-Jefferson since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jasper Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jasper and eight for Hardin-Jefferson.

Jasper is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Vidor on Monday. Jasper fell just short of Vidor by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Hardin-Jefferson fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Bridge City on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 212th).

Hardin-Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Jasper, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Jasper was able to grind out a solid victory over Hardin-Jefferson when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-0. Does Jasper have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hardin-Jefferson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
