Basketball Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. Berryhill Chiefs

The Bristow Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Berryhill Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bristow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.

Bristow put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season. They claimed a resounding 59-25 win over Kiefer at home. Given Bristow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Trojans are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bristow's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shalyn Edmondson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Edmondson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Addi Alexander, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Berryhill didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Trojans on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. 42 seems to be a good number for Berryhill as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Bristow has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Berryhill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Everything went Bristow's way against the Chiefs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the Pirates made off with a 63-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bristow since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
