Volleyball Game Preview: Irondequoit Eagles vs. Fairport Red Raiders

After both having extra time off, the Irondequoit Eagles and the Fairport Red Raiders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Irondequoit is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Our Lady of Mercy just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 2-1.

The losing side was boosted by Sadie Leger, who had five digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, Fairport came up short against Portville on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Irondequoit's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3-3. As for Fairport, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Irondequoit couldn't quite get it done against Fairport in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
