Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newton). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Pleasantville Trojans on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Newton's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Pleasantville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Newton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Norwalk on the 13th. As for Pleasantville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-6 loss against West Central Valley on the 12th.
