Basketball Recap: Westhill Makes It 13 in a Row on the Road

Westhill waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 63-55 win over the Institute of Tech Eagles. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Eagles are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westhill's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Institute of Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westhill will welcome Bishop Grimes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bishop Grimes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Institute of Tech, they will be playing at home against Marcellus at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
