Soccer Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe lost against Poly back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Monroe Vikings fell just short of the Poly Parrots by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by just one goal.

This is the second loss in a row for Monroe and nudges their season record down to 2-10-3. As for Poly, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9-1.

Monroe is taking a road trip to face off against Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Poly, they will take on Verdugo Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering Poly has lost three straight at home and Verdugo Hills three straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
