Basketball Recap: Dayton Dust Devils vs. Fernley Vaqueros
Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Fernley Vaqueros, falling 57-19. While losing is never fun, the Dust Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Vaqueros are ranked ninth).
Dayton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sadie Moore, who posted five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennidi Smith, who scored three points and eight boards.
Fernley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Tollestrup led the charge by going 7 for 16 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Kensey Kreller was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.
