Baseball Recap: Drummond's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

Drummond fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hydro-Eakly on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Tyler Walters spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Drummond fell to 8-1. As for Hydro-Eakly, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drummond will head out to take on Dover at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hydro-Eakly, they will face off against Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hydro-Eakly is facing Fairview at the right time seeing as Fairview is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
