Softball Game Preview: Shawnee Indians vs. Ada Bulldogs

The Shawnee Indians will venture away from home to take on the Ada Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Shawnee had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Ottawa-Glandorf on Monday. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 9-0 shutout.

Riley Rhodes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Menke, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Addie Melson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ada made easy work of Kenton on Thursday and carried off a 13-3 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Shawnee's record is now 13-10. As for Ada, their record now sits at 18-3.
