Volleyball Recap: Masuk Gets the Win

Masuk proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Newtown Nighthawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since September 6th.

Masuk was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-15, 18-25, 20-25, 25-11, 18-16.

Addison Scott paced Masuk's offense, picking up 12 kills. Scott got some help from Mia Tyler and her 27 assists. Scott was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Masuk is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Newtown, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9-1.

Masuk wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Immaculate on the 18th. As for Newtown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stratford on the 18th.
