Football Recap: Wellington Eagles vs. Delta Panthers        
        
		
             With a playoff game on the line, Wellington rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They snuck past the Delta Panthers with  a  27-23 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
  Cash Altschwager was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended a pass in addition to snagging  two  interceptions. Another player making a difference was  Tanner Gray, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
 Wellington was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 363  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 158  rushing yards in ten consecutive  matchups.
 Wellington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Altschwager. Wellington got some further help from  Teagen Greiman: he made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Wellington has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record  this season. As for Delta,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 7-3 record.
 Wellington will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Strasburg  at 1:00  p.m. Wellington will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive. Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
