Mentor came tearing into Thursday's contest with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Medina Battling Bees. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-8 back in April.

Mentor got a big performance out of Maddie Beam-Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Beam-Jones has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ireland Rainey, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mentor's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Medina, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mentor will face off against GlenOak at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Medina, they will challenge Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
