Baseball Recap: Saucon Valley's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

While Saucon Valley put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Northwestern Lehigh. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cole Hubert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Hubert was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Madden Heiserman was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Zak Ziegler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Saucon Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern Lehigh only posted a batting average of .050.

The win keeps Saucon Valley at an undefeated 5-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.8 runs thus far. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-1.

Coincidentally, Saucon Valley and Northwestern Lehigh will both be playing Palmerton the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Blue Bombers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
