Basketball Recap: North Forsyth Takes a Loss

North Forsyth lost against T.W. Andrews back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Forsyth Vikings took a blow against the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders, falling 78-49. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 156th).

Despite the defeat, North Forsyth saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peyton Thomas went 6 for 8 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerry Smith, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five assists.

North Forsyth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for T.W. Andrews, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

North Forsyth will welcome Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walkertown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season. As for T.W. Andrews, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-57 loss against West Forsyth on the 4th.
