Basketball Recap: Tallassee Comes Up Short

Tallassee played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Montgomery Catholic Knights 61-28. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Leading Montgomery Catholic to victory were Heaven Bailey and Hannah Smith. Bailey went 8 of 18 on her way to 20 points along with six assists and six steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Smith's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Levanda, who posted eight points and three blocks.

Tallassee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Montgomery Catholic, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tallassee will face off against Ellwood Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tallassee is facing Ellwood Christian at the right time seeing as Ellwood Christian is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Montgomery Catholic, they will challenge Trinity Presbyterian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
