Baseball Recap: Peninsula Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Peninsula won against Bellarmine Prep on Saturday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Seahawks walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Capital Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Seahawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kaleb Copeland tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Isaac Schultz-Tait was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Pete Browand, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Peninsula's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Capital, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Peninsula will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
