Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Udall

Udall posted their closest win since March 26th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Flinthills Mustangs 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Toby Ponce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Ponce wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Whitmore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Whitmore has posted since back in May of 2025. Mason Rowe was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Udall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Udall picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 6-10. As for Flinthills, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Udall by a score of 12-4 later that day.
