It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact California Lutheran can now relate to. They fell just short of the Miller Rebels by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The C-Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ethan Ash was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Ash was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Mathias Galanos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Christian Sutton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

California Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Miller, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10.

California Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miller, they will take on San Bernardino at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
