Volleyball Recap: Cambridge Comes Up Short

Cambridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union Local Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-27, 25-22, 25-14.

When it comes to explaining why Cambridge lost, don't look at Olivia Adams. Despite the final result, she had 27 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Adams is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

Among those leading the charge was Brooklyn Burley, who had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Union Local, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Cambridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Crooksville on the 20th. As for Union Local, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Buckeye Trail on the 20th.
