The Welch Wildcats lost against the Colcord Hornets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Year welcomed Welch with a 66-38 whooping from Colcord. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Welch in their matchups with Colcord: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Welch lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cash Tucker. Despite the final result, he scored eight points. Zarek Euran was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Welch's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Colcord, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Welch will take on Bluejacket at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bluejacket is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Colcord, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
