Tupelo has gone 7-2 against Hernando recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Tupelo is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Oxford, who was ranked sixth at the time (Tupelo was ranked second). Tupelo won by a goal and slipped past Oxford 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Wave.

Meanwhile, Hernando came tearing into two weeks ago's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 1-0 shutout. Give the Tigers' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Parks Raffety, who's now up to three this season.

Tupelo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Hernando, they pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Tupelo came up short against Hernando when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Tupelo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
