Benedictine comes up short despite Caleb Jones' dominant performance

After a string of six wins, the Benedictine Cadets's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to New Hampstead. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the loss, Benedictine still got an impressive performance from Caleb Jones, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of LaDon Bryant, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Benedictine's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for New Hampstead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benedictine will take on Islands at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Islands is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for New Hampstead, they will be playing at home against Southeast Bulloch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
