League recap: Trinity Classical Academy wins, gets boost in standings

Trinity Classical Academy was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in Heritage (8 Man). The Knights beat Kings Christian 50-12 earlier in the week.

Bloomington Christian fell to Nuview Bridge 68-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Trinity Classical Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Colton Oshiro threw for 167 and 3 touchdowns and Ryan Brooks had 151 yards receiving. On the ground Spencer Klehn contributed 90 yards. Klehn helped Trinity Classical Academy's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 71 yards.

Mike Buchanan's team's dynamic duo of Oshiro and Brooks proved tough for the Crusaders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Klehn helped Trinity Classical Academy's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 71 yards.

He went 5-5 with 0 interception.

Patch Kulp made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Knights beat Kings Christian. The 5-foot-11 senior grabbed 1.5 sacks.

Desert Christian Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunter Hurja has thrown for 766 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Kenny Gagnon has 18 catches for 402 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Faith Baptist and Joshua Springs. The Contenders comes into the matchup ranked fifth in the state, while the Lightning ranks ninth.

Trinity Classical Academy led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on Cameron Brooks' team. Oshiro in the win.
