Pioneer has gone 6-1 against Wood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Patriots will square off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Pioneer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Pioneer is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Vacaville just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

Marisa Bryson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Wood nor Rodriguez made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madisyn Farnham spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Redline, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Lily Anderson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pioneer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Wood struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Pioneer was able to grind out a solid win over Wood in their previous meeting on April 2nd, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
